If you want to venture away from the cabin, there are many places to see and visit within our area. A very popular thing to do here for our visitors is motorcycle riding. There are some very curvy, scenic roads perfect for riding and sightseeing. Close by is Talimena Scenic Byway, also known locally as 'skyline drive' which runs from Talihina, OK to Mena, Ark. In the middle is Queen Wilhelmena State Park which has some nice scenery overlooks. Also our own nearby HWY 259 which travels down to Beavers Bend State Park at Broken Bow Lake. Lots of things to see and do there but also congested with tourists during the summer months. In June, there is Owa Chita festival there in the park. In September, there is the Choctaw Labor Day Festival in Tuskahoma, just about an hours drive from the cabin here. In late September/October there is the very popular Bigfoot festival in Honobia, OK, just 8 miles west of the cabin. Also a new road from Honobia to Bethel which is very scenic and leads also to Hwy 259. Usually during the summer months there is always a rodeo somewhere in the vicinity. Also there is fishing/canoeing/kayaking/hiking/etc. available in our area. If you need supplies, we have two nearby mom and pop stores that offer gas/food/groceries for your convenience. Something for everyone!
